Why Messi's Argentina Never Win...
It's almost becoming a cliche now..."Miracle Messi" fails to lead his National team to victory again... World's best Footballer fails to display the same form for his nation, etc etc. And the comments are pretty obvious and simplistic. Just blame Messi for not being proud of his country, or where the Messi-worshipers are concerned, find faults with rest of the team or just blame the head-coach (In case of Maradona, I do agree with them, yeah!). But, I would hardly think the reasoning behind Argentina's failure is that simple. You just can't throw together some of the world's finest talents, and expect them to conquer everything, as Real Madrid keep finding out again and again.
Argentina have some incredible talents, alongside Messi, be it Tevez, Kun Aguero, Di Maria or Higuain. But, the major issue is Compatibility.Let Messi put any number of inch-perfect through-balls, the fact is Higuain and Tevez are simply not used to just wait on the shoulders of the last defender for such passes.Higuain plays an out and out Target Man for Real Madrid under Mourinho, in a role which lets him fight with the defenders. Carlos Tevez was the joint-top goalscorer in EPL last season, without a world-class play-maker in his team (David Silva returned to form pretty late in the season). Even Messi built his reputation as the world's Best, not only on his sleek passing, but also deadly finishing which saw him score an incredible 53 goals last season. But then, there's not a single play-maker in Argentine team, who can offer Messi the service that Xavi and Iniesta provide him at Camp Nou. Juan Roman Riquelme, the only one who could've done the duty, left the team after differences with the then-coach Maradona. His loss is huge to the Argentines, because it forces Messi to go even deeper to create chances for his team-mates, which deprives Argentina of one of the most brilliant finishers of the game.

The curious case of The Seleção ...
There were times, when every football fan,on seeing his team knocked out (or in some cases, team didn't even qualify), would go on to support Brazil for that tournament. It was considered an almost obvious thing to do.Not that other teams were not competent enough, Brazil were the epitome of Football, the unanimous emperors of the "Beautiful Game".Fast forward to today, and you'd almost feel sorry at the current state of affairs.

Looking back with a Blue Eye...
With no decent Footballing action, boredom has just started to sink in.For the last few days, I have been dwelling on the season just gone by, and all those what-ifs and could-have-beens.Talking about us Chelsea fans in general, the season could be termed, well, mediocre, at the best.Well,I do agree we don't have those little pieces of history to magnify the failures, like "We were the English Champions in 1925" or "We won the European Cup in 1647" (In short, the kind of things Liverpool fans would tell you, when you have asked them why they just lost to a Northampton!).But then, Chelsea have set themselves quite high standards in the recent years. So much so, that even a 2nd place finish looks a failure big enough to sack One of the Best managers in Europe.Honestly speaking , Chelsea were terrible at times, and if Arsenal hadn't had an even worse season, things could really have turned nasty!

Fizzled out at Wembley...

Honestly speaking, few of us (except the United's own fans, I mean) might have given Manchester United little more chance of beating Barcelona, than that of Northampton beating Liverpool (which is still quite good, I must admit!).

The Eccentric Genius of Sir Alex Ferguson...
At the final whistle on Sunday, which curtailed Chelsea's much-threatening come-back, English Football was still grasping the legacy, on the brink of which Manchester United now stand. One point from the remaining last 2 fixtures, and Manchester United will become the Best Football Club in English history.Officially.2 Decades ago, this would have seemed unimaginable. And there's one single man, responsible for this upheaval.Do I have to say out the name?
Most of our generation perhaps don't fully understand the magnificence of this achievement, even those who proclaim themselves to be hard-core devils.
But the Old Guard of United will certainly do.You have to go straight back to 1986 to fully realize his achievements. When Alex Ferguson(yeah, he wasn't a "Sir" at that time) was appointed as the manager of Manchester United, the team languished at 19th position in the league of 22,while Liverpool FC were THE Ultimate team, not only in England, but in whole of the Europe. They say it's a myth that Ferguson actually said at that time, that he wanted to upstage Liverpool. It would have been ridiculous to say that,on the backing of 7 League titles, all achieved quite a long way ago.But Ferguson admitted, that once they won their first title in 92-93, "it just started to flow".

"The Merchants of Dreams"....
It has all boiled down to the same! Manchester United host Chelsea in a Title-decider on Sunday, that will define their respective seasons. It's been the same last year, and the year before last, in fact straight back from 2003! Ever since Roman Abramovich took over Chelsea that year, the Blues have installed themselves as the firm challengers to United's long run of success.
